Almost four years ago, I changed course on my career and got out of consulting. I wanted to focus on product development full time. It was a bit of an adjustment at first, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. I love what I do and I love working with very smart people who can challenge me in ways that make me a better developer.

Since I started, our development team has almost tripled in size. We've added a dedicated quality assurance team (which by itself is the size of the dev team when I started), and we're looking to grow again. We're looking to hire a few developers and add to our QA team as well.

Be prepared. The barrier to entry is high. Our interview process is hard, but I think it fairly evaluates your skills, and, just as importantly, shows you what we value. In fact, my boss gave some details of how we've arrived at our current process just recently (for the record, I was hired under the process where "the results were awful."
